Thanks again for the condolences Pick. Much appreciated :)
i just saw the post about your Dad , my condolences . thoughts are with you .
Thanks for the help Pick. I'll have another look at it later on today but I'm pretty sure it's about a half millimetre at the nut and no more than 2-3 mm at the 12th. It was ridiculous the amount I had to shim the bridge hence resetting the neck but I think it's sorted in that aspect now. Pretty sure it's just my inexperience with adjustable hardtail bridges lol. Either way I'll try and get a photo later. Just had some really bad family news so I'm off out for a while. Thanks again for your help!
consider the height of your bridge also , and if you lowered the neck even more your action may be too high at the bridge which will effect intonation especially on the higher frets .(a side picture showing the string height may help us help you .)
Thanks again Derek. I'll double check that but I was pretty careful in the measuring stage of the build. I hope it's right because I've routed out for the pickup and it's going to be a mess if I have to move that or the neck! Lol. Wish me fortune! Better to know now before I get even more emotionally attached to it.
You are welcome, Bear. Double check the bridge is in the right location for the scale length of the neck, with allowance to adjust the string length longer at the bridge/saddles for compensation.
Thanks Derek! The neck is now back in and the bridge sits wonderfully in relation to the neck after another half inch of routing out. Really happy with it now. Just wish I could crack this intonation thang! Way out on all of the strings at the twelfth and for some bizarre reason the adjustable bridge doesn't seem to be changing anything. Obviously me not knowing what I'm doing so I may pay the local guitar shop to set it up for me. £30 for setting up a guitar so it plays right seems a fair enough deal to me.
Glad that you like it Derek and thanks again my friend!
Great looking build Bear! You play a good demo too! :)
Thanks Devil Dog. Glad you like the build. Nothing wrong with a Les Paul at all, in fact I believe I used to have its junior form. Just trying to keep these hands of mine busy building. Thanks again my friend :o)
Thanks Clock. Thanks Clock. Glad you like it (X2 lol). First time I've had a guitar of mine called groovy and I like it! Thanks again sir!
That is a groovy instrument!
