These metric drivers will take some getting use to! Appreciate it Erasmo! The red one definitely has a stage presence. These will expand my international playing ability!

Uncle, I prefer the blade screwdriver, there goes my trade secret! It's best to have an assortment of different drivers to accommodate your personal needs! Slow songs- short stubby drivers! Trad. Blues- a very sharp point, what's blues without pain! You gave me an idea! There's probably a lot of Nation members that crave this much needed info. I could do a teaching video..........fastest way to get kicked off the nation! On the serious side, sliding the metal part of a screwdriver gently back and forth produces an interesting sound. I wanted to use some kind of bow and received some ideas, but nothing yet. I sanded the metal slightly, and who knows, with a little practice! It's a bit metallic sounding, would like to soften it a bit. On that lap Diddley, I can get a hauntingly surreal sound. Well Uncle, wasn't planning on screwdriver conversation, but it certainly was fun! I thought I might be getting warnings from CBG Nation police about content! I am eying my weed wacker and chain saw on an Alice Cooper classic. Is that an oxymoron, A. Cooper classic? Thanks UJ!

Thanks.  But you never did specify whether straight or Phillips.   So I take it that it can vary with guitar and or song.  Hmm.   Okay.  Got it.

Mr. John! At you service, if I can stop laughing! Picking the right screwdriver isn't to be taken lightly. Plastic or wood handle, length, always an important issue, and of course, the proper blade. Selecting the blade that eventually drives a hole into your palm because of hour of practice is vitally important, as you are well ahead of the game. Phillips is small clean hole, the straight blade leaves many scars. No noticeable difference in sound, I would suggest the clean hole! Not the best choice of words perhaps, we're talking bows, not drivers. I did try a plastic handle wire brush, but that really worked the palm over and broke to many of Jim's tips an slide. Hope this helps Uncle!

Thanks Erasmo! Yeah handyman garage band lap sliding 50 ways to leave your lover blues. I was going to play the saw, but Uncle's 2X4 Diddley started shaking. Freedom for the noise master! Dave owns the tri-slide! You own speedy fingers! I own screwdriver blues!

Thanks James O! It sounded better mixed when I was playing using headphones. I record video at 1080 HD and I think YouTube records at 740, changes the sound a bit, making the dominant track a bit to loud, drowning out the rythem tracks to much. I'll fix that next time! I gotta get the rockin out of the system every now and then. Glad you Boom! Thanks again!

I am trying to learn from this.  Phillips or straight blade?

Dave, thank you! Glad you had fun watching me show off Jim's tips! I pick things up fast. Colds, rashes, sores, and fine slide technique. Show your children this is how not to do it, they'll be better for it. That's my public service for the week. I didn't have any finger for dampening the string, so yes, extra on the subtle touch to counterbalance. Can't understand why I couldn't get that clean sound! Tortilla Flats perhaps!
