The guitar is spot on, it was made by Chickenbone John so I know its well made, I think its probably more to do with how I use the slide. More a self made problem than a tool one lol. I tuned up to DAD using a tuner, which I know you hate lol, but then tweaked it and got the guitar sounding just how you said in the Video..... Its gotta be a me problem Im sure.

Careless John,

hmm . . . awful sounding when you go up the neck?  Maybe the intonation is off?  (I like to drop that fancy term cuz it makes me sound smart) hehe - but it just means that maybe the frets (or fret markers) are not located properly?  How did you arrive at the positions for the frets?

new to cigar box guitars. Bought one at Newcastle guitar show from Chickenbone John. Can't put it down. Written four songs already. No rules no limits! Great video too.

Excellent! I just bought a Shane Speal acoustic fretless 3 String and I'm working on my own electric 3 string. I think you just helped me make the decision to fret or not to fret.

Hi, hoping to purchase my first CBG very soon. I have heard arguments for both sides but truly which is the best to start off with, a 3 or 4 string. I have it in my mind a 4 string will be harder simply because it has 4 strings and not 3. If I get good enough (hopefully) on 3 strings will I be annoyed I did not get a 4 string, confusion yes.
