Built this git with plans to gift it – if my friend with an old Olds wants it. Turned out pretty good – plays easy. Tom Bingham gave me the idea for the song and song title.

Junkyard Angel

I was [G] seventeen when I [C] bought that Oldsmo-[G]bile.
Bought it at a junk yard, [C] ohh what a [G] deal.
It had a [D]big V-[C]8, and that [C]big V- [C] made those tires squeal.

I had a part time job and it was all I could afford.
Drove it like a fool and always had it floored.
It was my junk yard Olds, my junk yard Olds, oh good Lord!

Second week I had it; blew out a tire.
Met a junk yard girl and my heart caught fire.
She was a junk yard angel, a junk yard angel, she was so fine.

I was in high school and she was a college girl
I didn’t have a chance but I gave it a whirl.
She was a junk yard angel, a junk yard angel, I wanted her.

She looked out of place - workin’ the junk yard.
But her daddy owned the place and it was a summer job.
She was a junk yard angel, a junk yard angel, she was so fine.

She shot me down fast, I never had a chance.
Too young and poor for that romance.
She was a junkyard angel, a junk yard angel,
I wish she was mine.

Thanks, Vinyl.  Like the song, like the git.  Don't like the singing on this one.

Once again you've knocked it for six (hit a home run). You're like a blues machine, churning out perfectly formed songs time and again. Respect is due.

Great song and really well sung. The guitar sounds as if it is alive and looks tremendous too.
