All those saddles look great Kevin! Would be great if you could show a little of how you shape them in another video.

Thanks eK, didn't really think about changes to the nut, but that's a good idea and a possible new experiment, one thing at a time

Oh, and on a side note, I'd just like to compliment you on your craftsmanship and that great workshop you've set up for yourself. Looks like a place where you can really get things done.

I was wondering if conducting this experiment in conjunction with changes to the nut material and construction could bring even further improvements to the overall sound. Can't speak for CBGs having only built one so far. But on electric bass my experience makes me think of the nut and bridge as two parts of essentially the same system since their primary function is to transfer the string vibration to the instrument body. So looking at the nut might be the logical 'next step' in this quest for better tone. Just my 2¢ so feel free to ignore. :-)

Hi Kevin.

You are taking a lot of your time and I am sure that others will appreciate that. The tests that you are doing are of value particularly because some of the results may be counterintuitive and I think too many assumptions are made elsewhere without proper testing. This is good stuff.

Thanks.

John
