I was stationed in Austin, TX 1972 for a year before going to SEAsia. The music influences shaped me forever.

Thanks so much Dave, very kind of you! Glad you enjoyed the  nostalgia road trip. 1972, if you have to be in Texas, I was in the right place, music of all kinds with a little twang.

Great tour into Texas Richard. Many Mojo moments. Great mix and play. I’ll be watching this a lot.

I will be a Hep Cat with pride Nancy! Ha! The  troubadour can join and play anytime! Always thought a cat could blow a  trombone!  Super cool video pictures, love em! Thank you Nancy, your endless creativity is amazing!

Thanks James! Did my one and only CD in 2009, Boogie Bay Rock! Influenced by my time in Austin, I loved  the open stage, no matter what club or  venue, if you could play, joining in was always welcomed. I hadn’t even picked up a guitar yet.  So the CD was improvising a feel of bring the open stage to Monterey along the coast in a park. Needless to say I didn’t make the money needed to get that idea off the ground!

Thank you StorminSteve! While I was in Texas, I was sent to Biloxi, Mississippi for six weeks. Spent a weekend in New Orleans. You’d think I’d of gotten into Delta Blues then! That’s when Cream was hot, and one of my favorite albums ever came out, Deep Purple’s Machine Head. Missed the blues train smack dab in the middle of it! Ha!

I like good cow bookends Erasmo! It’s not easy searching for pictures of the Austin music scene of the early seventies. It was a good year, but knowing where we were heading after training put an ominous feel to it! Glad you liked it, thank you E!

Thank you Wes! In 1972, Austin was a  casserole of great music and clubs. You could go out and hear, blues, rock, country, Motown, folk, etc! Rockabilly covers a lot of that, yes Sir!
