Thanks so much, Glenn! It's a struggle right now, so we doubly appreciate your kind words. You know from your time with R. what work needs to be done out here! Anyway, as you can see, we've been having a blast with your instruction. The Hollands were with us this month, and their kids built CBGs, alongside our students! Will put up kid pics soon.
Glenn - loved the radio station clip on youtube. I"m inspired. Gonna build one of those. I actually have cigar boxes in stock - old habits. :-) I'm curious - the guitar you played on the clip - one piezo - two? Disks - or reeds? I've been looking at plans - but haven't seen any with the neck on the top all the way down like yours. That's sweet. Thanks for sharing your music and passion.
Hi Glenn, wonderful work on "Cardboard Box." And how generous of you to donate the majority of proceeds to a very worhty cause. You must be very proud of your daughter Amy, she really shines in the lead vocals she does on the CD. I pray it will do well and the Lord's hand be upon you and all you do.
You made my day with your comment on my Blind Willie song. I don't have a website but thanks for asking. I play both bluegrass and blues. LOVE to play 3 string blues!
im with ya on that not caring about fancy. yeah there nice to look at but they really play the same eater way and the thing about these are there suppose to be as cheap as possible to have fun with...
i have uesd nail on three of my builds and tooth picks on 2 of them. ive got 1 that im working on now its a license plate that i made a box for out of oak and the neck also is oak and heres the kicker the fret wire is copper wire from house wire that i got from my dad again when he build his garage and it really was easy to work with and it looks killer! the nut is a piece of copper tubing that i smashed flat. to me it looks really cool but ive still got to pick up some tuners and make a tail piece for it. its a 4 string.
yes i drilled the eye bolts. i love these builds...you know they are not as nice as one with alot of fancy stuff but they are just as fun to build and play and a whole lot cheaper
thanks Glenn. its got steel strings on it and no pup as of now but i will put one in it soon. i was trying to see how cheap i could build it for and ive got 8.00 in it right now. i gave 1 dollar for the box and 4.50 for the eye bolts and 2.50 for the strings.my dad was building a new porch on his house and had a picket left over and gave it to me and i used it for the neck and made a heal from a scrap piece of poplar and a headstock from a scrap piece of red oak and the nut and bridge are concrete nails that i bummed from my dad as well lol so i guess he kinda owns half of it lol

Hey Glenn Just heard you on WJTL. Thanks for coming to the fest on Saturday hope to see you there!
By the way Fred Mcnaughton the station manager plays a mean uke.
We also hooked him up with an amped up baritone Cigar box uke.
I also sent you a friend request don't know how that goes through?
I got a video on my page from a contest WJTL was having at the Sertoma Chicken bbq last year.
Hope you get a chance to check it out.
Thanks for your straight up testimony on the air and your love for the blues and most of all
King Jesus!!!!!
Blessings
