cheers Mark, very encouraging. Sometimes I find these pieces that I recorded previously and just forgot about them. This was done in October. There's one or two other possibles then I'm going to work up some more ideas on same theme.
Cheers Mark, it was really just an exercise for sussing it all out. Kept it short for ease, didn't want to be too ambitious. I know what you mean though, it could go a lot further.
You are welcome, Mark. It may be a while before I finish mine. A minor set back with the fingerboard slipping and sliding after I applied the glue, and of course, it dried a little over. So, I had to do some sanding to correct that problem. I told my husband, it doesn't seem like I will ever finish it. He said, anything worth while takes time. Keep building and playing and having fun.

Hi Mark, and thanks for the offer of a lift. Hyde is only about twelve miles away from me, or less, so that wouldn't be too difficult. Unfortunately, now that I know the price of tickets, I don't think that I will be able to afford to go and I certainly wouldn;t be able to do an overnight stop - which had been my original intention untill I joined th swelling ranks of the unemployed earlier this year. It seems like I;ll just have to be with you all 'in spirit'. :-(
Hi Mark C,
thank you for your kind comments about my strummer. This was my first effort at making a strummer/dulcimer type instrument and I was very happy with it due to its sound, but I learn't so much from building the thing that my next effort will be easier to play.
hey mark you are correct on both in theory,i used the dowels to let the volume out of the cake pan and to elevate it closer to the top of the box.thanks fer the nice comment man, have a great week.

Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee
Ey up Mark , the shrill sound seems to happen all way through but does get worse when you swith over to the dirty setting in the second half , i had the same problem with my first video and found that turning camcorders the record level down just about cured it .also i dont know why it is but i've noticed that when i upload a video on here it does seem to become more noisey and more tone ??
yes mate all the tunes on my player are me tryin to play i'm not the best player by a long long way lol! but try to make my own tunes up as i go , thanks for the comment and freinds invite mate
i noticed you aare going the the CBG fest in Oct , hope to see you there mate
juju.
Mark,
Yes, the tuner set up is to get the strings to sit on the nut properly. At the time I hadn't thought of a string tree, so this was my solution. It seems to work out well. It stays in tune nicely. The high G string does dig slightly into the wood, but being oak, it isn't that bad. In case you didn't know, there's a G-Dec owners site: http://www.mygdec.com/ there's lots of useful info for the G-Dec owner.
Heh, they are impossible here. We use large plastic jugs for our oil now. Mac Arnold's guitars were built in the 50's after the original one build by his brother in the 40's.
Neat thing is, Mac lives about 20 minutes from me and I have seen him play in the large town near me.
