Hi Mike! Pleased to be your friend. Try tuning open G at GBD or GBE. This is using acoustic medium steel strings with a VSL of around 23 inches. For slide I would look at a smaller nut and bridge if possible and get those strings down as close to the neck as possible. I'm no expert but every little bit helps eh! Good Luck!!
