Dave,
That sounds like something I could really get into! I have a pretty long list of other projects I really want to complete before I start on building mics but I would welcome any recommendations for a first project when I get ready.
Thanks,
Chuck
howdy david, just popped in to answer yer question about whats behind the soundholes inside the box of the lil white hog posted in the rat rod group.only thing there is air then past the air is a masonite back.the only part of this build that is cigar box is the top--all the rest is various articles i accumulated to make it all work together. thanks for the question.
but no I have not sold the pups yet man I was going to do a trade with someone but def felt that the person ahd way to much going on at this time really etc.
Hey man, been lax, busy scraping by, and distracted in general -- easieer to pick up a guita and play rahter than buckle down to finish the CBGs -- the whole living room is filled with half built stuff and tools and scraps...probably gonna finish a big build I have going for a friend (an avid cigar smoker who wants to gift a custom CBG to the president of La Flor Domingo with whom he's friends) -- but that's a real electric 6-stringer, so need to get a center block milled, glued, routed for neck pocket etc..I need to farm that out...I don't have a pro planer or any router...but will get my two CBGs done soonish...they're so close, just need wiring and hardware customized...then a quick stain etc...I hope you're well. Thanks for teh note. Will keep in touch. ET
Hi David...the soundhole cover is a potato masher (for making mashed potatoes) cost $1.15 (including tax) from local Dollar Store. I nipped off handle and whallah.
I would love to have a vintage tube radio coverted to a low watt guitar amp... if you are into these things, I would be willing to build something for you, or figure some parts trade, lumber, tools?
I have looked into it and one of the pickups I have goes anywhere from 35 to 50.00 a piece , I was wondering are you wanting the pick guard, switches, and volume knobs also ? :-)
