Hello! My name is Kevin M. Kraft, founder of the annual Kansas City Cigar Box Guitar Festival. This year's event will take place on August 26th, and once again I am accepting cigar box guitars and cigar box guitar-related donation, which will be raffled off during the festival, the proceeds to benefit Kansas City's Blues in the Schools program. If you have a guitar, accessory, CD, DVD--anything related to cigar box guitars that you would like to donate, please contact me at the Cigar Box Nation or email me at kevinmkraft@juno.com to learn where to send it.
Thanks, I found it. I think I found that before just didn't know that was it. Thanks again. I pit my cd on my page give it a listen let me know what you think. The players were from Nashville the vocals are me. See ya.
Hello, I looked on that web site for the fret chart could not find it. How do I find it. I need to find it. Ok I'm obsessed. Your stuff is real good. Thanks.
Thanks for the fret info.I have been looking every where to find something and I fount stuff that to me seemed a little expensive. I am not musically inclined but I want to learn. I can't wait to get mine done.
I checked out your page. You are a prolific and skilled builder. I like your builds. Pretty headstocks, lots of detail, nice color. I particularly like the wood top Punch, the black trio and the Hardware Store Special.
Looks like you are a Bulldog fan. I am an Iowa State and Nebraska fan. What music do you play? I am into older blues, Gospel and some old timey.
Thank you Robert J for your comments. There are a few tricky jumps in this arrangment, but with some good old persistent practice, it usually comes together over time. Enjoy.
thank you sir for your comments on the jack daniels vid i just played what it wanted me to hear i guess. kinda had a few tunes all kinda intertwined together.
Thanks Robert. This Don Carlos is taken, and i hate to see it go. I got the neck and fretboard so smooooth, and i love it. Plays great and sounds great. I will be doing some more of those boxes soon.
hello howdy brother robert, thanks for the comment man,and the truth is those lap steel builds were very easy to build and didn't take long to do at all.i encourage you to try one cause i know you will have a good time building one and you have great vision on your builds,so thanks for the comment brother man. the 4 string is simple-i used an old spirit level,an old tobacco tin,and fer da peg box i used the blocks that are inside cigar boxes--i cut one of them in half for the sides of the peg box and cut another to make the front and back of the peg box and screwed the 4 pieces down on the level and presto it was a peg box.i drilled the tuner holes after the peg box was attached to the level. take care man, talk wit ya later.
Hey Robert, great to meet ya mate... and your just down the road in Waycross, GA. Totally agree, we need a Cigar Box Fest in the deep south... Who else is interested and living in GA or FL
Thank you Robert for your comment. Please check out my instructional video CDs that are available for sale on ebay. http://shop.ebay.com/njmikeb/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686
CD 1 and CD 4 contain CBG lessons. In addition, even though CD2 is for 6 string guitar, it the perfect compliment to the 4 string CBG lessons in Open G tuning. Enjoy.
Hey thanks for the help on the brass pickup inserts they really look nice. I did buy about 5 of the Dollar Tree buzzers as I had to go to 3 different Radio Shacks to get the Piezos they had listed on website on how to solder them together, It was easy and no feedback at all unless I am cranking it, I used hot glue to cover mine and it works great. Again thanks for the insight.
