You're right, RTZ. I better not ask my follow up question concerning whether adding a polyurethane coating to the box dampens the sound quality. That'll keep 'em going for another 5 pages!

RTZ,

Still Looking for You is beautiful. Brings out emotion and that is a good thing... Thanks for sharing it.

Hi RT,

Thanks a lot. Yes, some things keeping me from being able to do all that I want, but I hope that won't last forever. I don't have a lot of free time for now, so I couldnt get to the Beatles, but would have liked to. Appreciate your nice words, and you take care too...

Hey RTZ,

There isn't a comment box under the Swamp Frog Blues. There's your comment, but then no box to write in. Is it just finger trouble on my part ?

Just found your comment on my take on Guy Clark's L.A. Freeway. Thanks mate.

I started listening to country music through Alt. Country acts like Giant Sand, Uncle Tupelo and Whiskeytown, and then became interested in the artists that influenced those acts. While my friends were off listening to Techno and ultra-cool Indie music, I was listening to Merle Haggard, Townes Van Zandt, Spade Cooley, Ernest Tubb and The Carter Family. It's a shame that what is now recognised as country music has mostly turned its back on its history, but there are still exciting artists out there, if you look for them. I'm sure I'll be posting another slice of old country in the not too distant future, and it's good to know there are folks out there who share my passion.

Did you need me to redo something?

Did I sing to the right version?

Hi
Sure thing you can use the singin
I laid down most of the song as was fininding it easier than just a verse.
So I could cut and paste the best bit .

RTZ,

Thanks for listening, man. Interesting you thought I might be ripping off Croce; never thought of him. Like most of us, I absorb influences from everywhere, usually subconsciously. But that little tune right there wrote itself. The git dictated it to me. Seriously. I wrote it on the Wichita Sam #268, tuned F#-C-F#-D, and the bits and pieces just cobbled themselves together over a few nights while watching TV. I kept asing my wife if she liked it; she kept nodding her head while finishing up a quilt, so I kept going. Then, couple nights ago, the nut split in 3 pieces on that git, so I had to play it on The Busker, tuned Bb-F#-Bb-C# (I think). The track has 5 overdubs on it to thicken the sound, and I forgot to turn off the bad sci-fi movie I was watching while recording it (you can hear ghostly voices if you  listen). Took 3 weeks to come up wihth a title, as I didn't know what it wanted to be. I know everyone's impatient for the TVZ tribute; I re-mailed the file coupla days ago to Dan Sleep to see if he can sort out the permissions issue on the download folder over the weekend. It's coming soon. Also, I heard back from MyTexasMusic.com, and they will be uploading the file in a few days as well.

Hey RTZ - yeah, the Alps are cool - like any mountains. I'm not that crazy about hiking or even climbing but I have friends who have climbed almost every peak around here. A Dobro would be on my wishlist for my 50th birthday party (I've just had my 40th this year). So I'll have to wait for some time ...
