You're not wearing a leather face ask with scary mouth and eyeholes, are you?

Ok.  Just making sure I'm not opening myself up for another chainsaw massacre comment.  :P

I'm not sure if elm are dutch, but the blight definitely is named as such.  It's really sad because they are beautiful trees.

Just that there's a well known disease that afflicts Dutch elms, and certain baseball clubs' bats, from time to time. ;-)

Where are you going with this line of questioning, counselor?

Are your elms Dutch?

Oh, I let that go in the wrong direction!

Fortunately, the only blood on the bar has been my own (ouch)! and that of the trees around my property.  We have a lot of elm in the back and most only survive to about 6" diameter before disease takes over.  Within two years they are without leaves and it is time to come down.

I have one elm that is about 16" diameter that appeared good and healthy when I cleared out 40 trees for my barn.  I left it standing.  This year the leaves were thin and next year there likely won't be any.  And it hangs way out over the roof.  I'm going to have to call someone surgically remove it eventually.  Or build a new roof.

Tiny Tim's Greatest hits performed by Bad Finger on a Sponge Bob lunchbox uke!

Most here need not fear my antisocial or introverted tendencies.  It's the general population of self absorbed idiots I don't care for.  You know. . .people from the suburbs.  Oddly, that's precisely where my primary residence is located.  :(  For balance, I built a barn on my property and make at least monthly use of a McCulloch commercial chainsaw that is at least as old as me.

Plus, beer generally makes for easier conversation.

New CBG T-Shirt!
