I'm sure Derek would love any of these. Sounds like you need to contact Bob, and get the details on the studio build

I know Bob through work, he's an excellent audio engineer who works out of Studio Consultants Inc in New York, and he's a very nice chap to boot. I didn't know he built Derek's recording studio, but it doesn't surprise me, he could probably do it in his sleep. I only have a few pics of the guitars, and none are particularly good ones. Bob (snr!) kept the three string box guitar, and he gave the others to Bobby and Derek for Christmas. I don't know which one he decided to give to whom.

Hay Kevin your story keeps getting better Bob Tis Sr. is only the gentleman  who built and set up Derek and Susan’s recording studio! Please tell me and the CBN more?  Please post a photo of  the three string dulcimer fretted tin guitars you built

The Bob Tis you're referring to is my mate Bob's son. And you're right, it would be absolutely ace if he played it live. Please let me know if he does! (although I'm pretty sure he won't!!)

Hey man that  is cool. Correct me if I'm wrong but is not Bob Tis Derek's guitar tech and sound engineer at his sound recording studio. Sure would be cool if he played it live. I’m going to Indianapolis next Wednesday to see him again

I made some three string dulcimer fretted tin guitars for my friend Bob Tis last year, who is good mates with Derek Trucks, and he gave one to Derek for Christmas...apparently Mr Trucks, the Legend, loves it. Now that is very, very exciting to me! He is a tremendous slide player.

Correct. The Tedeschi Trucks Band, is HOT if you have not seen they live it is a must do. They played Cincinnati last month, very good show. I had the chance to meet both of them after the show very warm and friendly, Derek was kind enough to give me one of his slides. So far , it has not helped……. I still suck at playing slide.

Not only that, he married and plays with a babe blues-rock guitarist, Susan Tedeschi, in the Tedeschi-Trucks Band, when he's not playing with The Allman Brothers Band, or guesting with Warren Haynes and Govt' Mule. And he's one of the most humble stars ever.

He has made quite a name for himself. Has played with most top contemporary blues legions. The band won a Grammy for best blues CD . Probably the best slide player out there right now
