Thanks, Rusty, ma man. Know about Shure bein good, as singers in bands ah played in favoured them . Thanks for givin makes/types of others. I'll  check them out, bearing prices in mind .

Thanks Rusty, I think I will just leave the fretboard plain for now, if the thing works well, I can always carve into it later on. Appreciate the tips though! Like the canjo and dbow too!
