Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee

i would love one of those American historic houses i love the look of them all made from wood much better than english homes and much bigger - i'm a joiner / Carpenter by trade and would love working on those american wooden Houses
i'm sure you could easily make a CBG just go for it

Hey Bubba Nimmo
Thanks for your kind coments on my Guitars - i dont have a shop i'm working from my Bedroom using hand tools it sucks i need a Shop badly !!
well if i was going to buy a CBG i would look at Daddy Mojo (you can find Daddy Mojo on Here type his name into the members search ) i have been after one of his but dont have the funds as yet or if you look on youtube for Reddog guitars he builds some nice guitars - price wise is you get what you pay for it all depends how much you want to pay - i'm hoping to be able to produce some for sale later in the year but i need to get out of this bedroom/workshop haha!!
BTW seen your Busa photos Great Ride dude and your looking real dapper on your wedding photos
Easy now
juju.
Hey Bubba
Good to here back from you
White oak should be good - i have done two four string necks with it no problems but i also added a 6mm - 1/4" fretboard - as for bracing i have not braced any of my builds other than the reso because of the Big hole for the reso cone - but i use all wooden box's not the paper coverd ones - the paper coverd ones tend to be a little thinner material than the all wood boxes so a little bracing may be needed all depends on the box to be used and what sort of neck your using - if you use a thru neck the neck takes the string strain but you have a little pressure on the box lid with the strings pressing down on the bridge - if your planning on a reso see my reso Guts photo - a thru neck was not possible with this build so i used a truss rod and a internal brace from the butt of the neck to the butt of the box
As regards selling you a pickup - i'm planning on buying a pickup winder so i can knock some off - because right now it's not cost effective for me to make them to sell it's taking ages to make one plus there would be the cost of the shipping on top so as i said it's not cost effective for me or you sorry bubba
You could buy a 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 string pickup from Ted Crocker he sells his pickups way cheap i dont know how he does it to be honest but he does and he sells loads and there "Shit Hot "
Hope this helps

Hi Nimmo
Thanks for the reply - you sure were lucky with the blow out - over here in the UK if you get speed checked at 100mph you get 3 months jail and every 10 mph after that its a extra week on top of your 3 months plus your licence will be suspended for a year and you have to retake your driving test again
about ten years ago i had a rear tire go down on me - i had just bought a GPZ 1000RX ninja (secondhand) had the bike for about a week and decided to take it down the Motorway/freeway to see what it would do speed wise got it up to 165mph and things got wobbley so i backed off the gas and went into the biggest tank Slapper known to man - still dont know how i stayed on the bike - it turned out the back tire was a V-rated tire only good for speeds upto a max 150mph because i pushed the bike to 165mph the rear tire expanded off the rim and let the air out so when i shut of the gas and the centrifugal force on the tire dropped it tried popping the tire off the rim - the tire pumpped back up no pumptures at all but i went and bought a new set of tires the next day rated at 200mph - that was a experiance i would not wish on anybody lol!!
This is what i'm riding now it's a real beast and loves wheelies
i live in Sheffield ,south yorkshire UK
good to here your getting some Cigar Boxes sorted be sure to post photos as you go we all love CBG in progress photos on here if you need any info just ask mate

anyway thanks for letting me in on the Bubba thing - you learn something new every day on here talking to people around the world it's kool so much to learn from one another
What sort a build you gonna make for your first - i must warn you it's avery addictive hobbie soon you will be looking at object in a diffrent way , thinking could make a guitar from that or that would make a nice bridge lol!! let you be warned haha!!
Cheers mate nice to have you aboard with us
