almost forgot, stoney end dulcimers, bodhrans, and banjos has a fretted or fretless mountain banjo available in cherry. it is completely assembled for $250 and as a kit for $150
check youtube. there's a guy there who sells high quality mountain style banjos with friction pegs. walnut models run $300, but he has an economy model he's now making out of pine (nylon strings only) for $100 or $150, i believe. kid with glasses, s…

I built a diddley bow a few days ago. After trying my various glass and metal slides, I found the one I liked best was a piece of PVC tubing. NIce and light and sounds suprisingly good.

I started making bone noters for lap dulcimer playing, got 4 builds to finish and then got my bone slides to work on. Why don`t you try checking ebay, you might be able to find a banjo that needs some minor work at a cheap price......Randy
