A few months ago, I switched from playing a 3 string to a 4 string.  One of the first things I noticed was a lack of chord charts. Instead of wondering why there wasn't one readily available, this is…Continue

Exit 2014, Enter 2015

As for the ancient history that is the year 2014, It was good to me overall..

Got the home studio up and running.  As a result, I managed to release not one but two CDs of three string CBG mayhem.  Twenty two songs in all.

As for this year, I have something bigger planned.  The goal is to have it…

My First CBG album!! Give It A Listen.

Four months in the works. It's done! My first cigar box guitar exclusive album. There were two 3 string CBGs I used in the recording. There were many cheap beers, cheap harmonicas, half broken microphones, and a 32 year old saxophone that gave it's last breath making this happen.

It…

Bill, I do make my own cookie tin banjos, most tins work but the older ones are made with thicker tin and they ring a lot better. I have also heard old film canisters work well also but I have not tried any yet. Otherwise I just make 3 or 4 stringed ones like a cbg. I do like to tune the high string way up like a banjo so I can play claw hammer though. But I did not use that type on the last cd. Hope this helps and thanks for listening to my music....matt

https://jerusalemmules.bandcamp.com/album/the-jerusalem-mule-plays-like-hell here is a link to a free cd I just made. I really enjoy your music and thought you might like hearing a different take on the cbg thing. Though mine is a cookie tin guitar. Hope you like

Bill, you have some nice build photos posted.  I wish my frets were as square and nice as yours.   Glad to have you for a nation friend.   Is March good for a visit to your place in Florida?   Linda and I could not impose on you for more than a week or two.   Can you cook?

Welcome Bill,
I am also in FL. I live in Bradenton, south of Tampa. Only been a member of CBN for a few weeks but I really enjoy checking out the pics and comments of other members. A person could really learn a lot from the very talented and creative builders/players on here.

Best regards,
Chuck
