Randy S. Bretz commented on Sumner McLain's photohowdy, sorry it took me so long to answer yer question about the area 51 resonator, where the piezo is located at the headstock....its a very weird thing to describe but i will try. so first i must say its on a slide build with no frets, and you can pluck the strings and get sound thats kinda a far away sound, but the minute you touch the slide to the strings its like a booster switch and the volume is activated---but if you remove the slide from the strings its like the volume is gone but you stil get a sound that is far away. so for playing slide in a average way its not practical because of the loss and gain of the volume but i would say for a special type sound where you would not have to remove the slide at all from the strings,it would make an interesting recording. thanks for your question.
