I am collecting parts and information for my first build

I worked for Western Electric Co. as an Installer working in telephone offices adding equipment, later for SWBT. I have always enjoyed working with my hands. I bought a guitar and an amp. Now I am building an amp. I decided to try to build a guitar, even though I could buy one cheaper. However it turns out, it will be mine. Figuring out what I need for the build, the how to and the parts needed has become a quest. I'm hooked on figuring out how to build my guitar, I decided to build a bass first, since I already have a guitar. I won't be satisfied until it looks and plays for real as it already does in my mind.
