Hello everyone,
I discovered cigar box guitars this past weekend, about 72 hours ago. Thanks to unstrung13 on YouTube, I now have a working electric slide cbg. I'm about to start on my second one and will upgrade to tuning machines from eyebolts-washer-wingnuts. My biggest challenge is tuning so far. I have not figured that out yet.
I'm interested in advice, email and chat to get better at this. I've got a line-up of people wanting a coostum cbg. Thanks for any help you can provide. I can be reached at gillensmn@yahoo.com.

Worships can be a lot of fun and really make a major impact on kids. The main "trick" is kitting your builds ahead of time and having plenty of adult supervision...

Diane in Chicago said… - There is a builder on here, Matte Resist, who lives in Minneapolis. He'd be a great resource. He's an arty guy, hard-core recycler and cyclist. I think he'd be a sounding board or even collaborator with your project. He's engineered some very cool franken-bikes and has lots of building chops, too.

For your group build, I'd suggest getting in touch with Wichita Sam. He's done group builds before, and he'd have better suggestions on streamlining the process and whatnot.
Good luck -- it sounds like a really great project idea! Wish I lived close by, would they take art teachers amongst all those technical people? :-)
