"If you don't want to go with flatpups, you can fix the neck to the a piece of board that connect the bottom of the neck to the back of the CBG.  You are essentially building a "backbone" neck thru and you can remove way more wood…"

"Following the suggestion of a fellow ukulele-builder I just flattened the regular (small) metal saw with a file. It makes more or less 0.6 mm wide cuts, perfect for the fretwire. Use the miter! "

pick up and neck problem

 I am making a  3 string with a through the box neck and want to use a humbucker  pickup I am worried that I will need to remove too much of the neck to locate the pickup and I will weaken it. are there any low profile pickups ( not piezo ) that you would recommend?Thanks In advance MitchellSee More
