I'm Mike, this is my first post. Years ago I was given a piece of mahogany by the guitar player in my band, he told me to build a bass. I did, it was great, cool I had no idea that I could do such a…Continue

Cigarbox Camplifier

I had this strange little box laying around, it didn't have the proportions I like for an instrument but after seening some of the little low powered amps I decided that would be the way to go. It's 2 watts and runs on 9v. Got bored this weekend and threw it together.Front,  Back,See More

I came across Ted Crocker on a now-defunct web forum called Tweed's Blues, and when he announced this new place for cigar box builders/players, I was here in a heartbeat. So he's in Florida, eh? Do you know him? He sure is prolific making awesome homemade instruments! Seems like a lot of the old Tweed's Blues folks were in Florida, so you may come across some of 'em on "the road less traveled"; they all seemed to take that road, too. Come to think of it, I believe Ben Prestage also lives there (if you don't know him, you should -- check YouTube).

So you're going to have a foundry?! Sheesh! Sounds like you'll be busy making all kinds of stuff!

Well, HEY, Hush! Good to see ya! This is a cool place; different from the FDP (my favorite place!) but good for getting inspired and sharing music, pix & videos, and I've made a few Colorado friends here who I've come to know pretty well in real life. Say, I read the "road less traveled" thread and saw your instruments, many of which I've seen before. Great stuff. You should get those photos up on your profile page, too, or they'll get lost when the topic runs its course. Hope all's well down on your new homestead in Homestead!
