CHAP'S STIK #2: Just completed Chap's Stik No. 2. It's a 3-string with a fretless red oak 25" scale neck. Since I took the photos I've switched out the nut and bridge to a section of brass bolt in order to lower the action. I put a piezo inside but it isn't picking up much of the vibrations. Need to replace and relocate it.

Took a hard look at surface planeres and planer/joiners this morning at Lowe's and decided that I have no real justification for spending money on either. I could buy a lot of 1/4" and 3/4" dimensional lumber for $500. Maybe I can pickup a bargain at an auction this summer.

Picked up 13 great boxes for $3 each at Royal Tobacco, 4700 Cemetery Rd., Hilliard, OH. They had a ton of them and it's the best variety I've found since I began building CBGs.

Now that I know more I'm going to rebuild the second CBG I built. It was an unfretted 3-string with a piezo that didn't work. So I've decided to replace a new piezo, round over the back sides of the neck, insert a more efficient and better looking nut, and install frets at the 3, 5, 7, 10, octave, etc. New strings and tuned to GDG. I was going to use it as a wall hanger but it sounds real good so I decided to try to save it. It can always hang on a wall later.

I gifted my first diddley bow to our son in law who is a huge fan of early raw Delta blues. The first 2-string went to our son who has been playing around with guitars for several years. So, on Christmas Eve we had ourselves a little family jams band. Great fun and everyone was excited with their gifts.

Hi Larry C. I have looked at some of Your Pictures, much very fine to see.
Hello Larry! No there are no effects used, its all done whit the Mouth, the tongeu , and the two string Mouthbow. the overtones are created positioning the tongeu in such away they apear, they are technieks i also use whit the mouthharp/Jews's-harp (see picture) i try to talk treu the airflow that way you change the sound. its recorded directly (stereo) in my MP3 recorder.

to get a ideer on the sound of the fine looking home made Instrument, i am in training on even using a slide while playing, i hope this answers your qustion sir ,Kind greetings A.D.Eker BCB CBG's Holland.
