- How did you learn about Cigar Box Nation?
- On the Internet when I started looking up parts and instructions for building
- How many instruments have you built so far?
- 3 with all the parts ready for my fourth two more on the plan for my kids
- What do you find most interesting about cigar box guitars? (If you do not enter something meaningful here (at least one sentence long), your membership may be rejected as a spam/bot fake account).
- The most interesting thing about building cigar box guitars and playing them is the personal touch that is added to the music. I have always been a fan of the blues and feel that there is not a better musical style to express ones self. Recently I have found myself drawn more towards modern folk music and blue grass (new grass) style music again because I can appreciate the depth of emotion and feeling brought out by the artists. My first CBG was a store bought kit and I instantly fell in love with the instrument. The variations of builds, how many strings, electrified or acoustic, wood box or cardboard. There is absolutely no limit to how much of myself I can put into the build or the music. As someone who had played multiple stringed instruments throughout my life I'm finding that I have not been able to express myself in the same way through any other instrument. I am still experimenting and learning the cigar box, methods and styles, watching videos of artists, reading articles on how to build, but already I know I am hooked for life.
