Hi Johannes,
I think the easiest way around your problem with staggered pole Strat pickups is to not use them! I guess you could adjust the bottom of the plate so that it sat on each of the poles but that would be a lot of work and you wouldn't end up with the benifit of staggered poles, ie., as Fender says, to " bring the volume of each individual string into balance so that one string or a couple strings aren't disproportionally loud compared to the other strings." I don't think CBG is a precise enough instrument to be able to implement such niceties. A simple cheap pickup, such as those which can be purchased on Ebay for less than $ 10 will sound great on a CBG.
