The markings on the bottom of paper-covered boxes

For those of you who use the wooden bottoms of the paper-covered boxes as soundboards, what do you do with/about any markings on the bottom? For example, on the Arturo Fuente boxes, there's a "burnt" scroll shape with full brand name and serial number. Could I sand it off without damaging the bottom? I really have no idea how thick the layers are in the plywood on those. How did you learn about Cigar Box Nation?: Bing Search

How many instruments have you built so far?: None so far.

What do you find most interesting about cigar box guitars? (If you do not enter something meaningful here (at least one sentence long), your membership may be rejected as a spam/bot fake account).: I have an interest in woodworking and a desire to make inexpensive instruments for lower income families. CBG's look relatively easy to put together, easily customized, and cheap to get the parts. Plus, I just love folk instruments, and have an interest in clowning and thought something like this would go well with a hobo clown character.

I pulled about 12 feet out of the trash at a company that builds cabinets. What I like about using the Corian is that I can file it after installing it and fine tune my action.
