Garage Rock, Blues and the CBG...

Hibr/>My name is Ian and I have been playing music for more than quarter of a century.
I originate from Tasmania Australia(yep the place where the Tasmanian Devil live).

I have being playing obscure punk rock, 50-60's weird ass rock and roll and @#$ked up country most of my musical life.
I have always had a hankering for making my own instruments and Cigar Box guitars cross so many of my favorite musical tastes and sounds.

I currently play in a band called Wrong Turn.

I am currently finishing off our new album and more and more the weird ass Juke joint vibe creeps in and now some CBG.
I love open tunings.

Over the years I have made many string intruments.
Even grownig my own gourds to make fretless banjoes.

Anyhow glad to have found the site and will add some pics and sounds in the very near future!

I usually buy them from Ebay at pretty good prices and mostly from the U.S.
Just a matter of finding them with lower postal charges.
Other than that it is the luck of trash and treasure markets, I got a couple of vintage small ones at Wantirna market last Sunday.

I have in the past done what you have and made my own box.
The larger boxes seem harder to come accross in Australia and smaller population of smokers here means less boxes.

I will do some homework for you and see if I can find somewhere local for boxes.
