London and nearby

A group for those near to London, weather you live near or just feel near spiritually. Even if you've never been to the "Great Metrolops" but feel some sort of emotional connection. Hope it helps people down south to co-ordinate a bit.

Darren Gosling replied to carverman's discussion CB Gitty..now what about these piezo sizes?
"The piezo electric effect can be summed up in a nut shell. The voltage output is determined by the pressure applied (sound waves) on its surface area with a fiddle factor of the piezo electric effect. So, as the most piezos are made of the same…"

Darren Gosling replied to little eddie wolf's discussion using coat hangers for frets?
"I have used bicycle spokes for frets. I filed down 2 edges flat to the width of the my saw and used epoxy to secure them, a couple of frets where a bit high and needed some attention. But a part from that it was alright."

Thank you for responding. In case you didn't notice, all you have to do is capo the 2nd fret and you will be in the common key. I am glad to be of help. I am finishing up a series of Chord Chemistry lectures that I will blog. My intention is to get this information out there. There is a method to understanding chords in relationship to tuning and how many strings on your instrument. It is all neat and organized. Applicable to meet your needs. This stuff is truly the Rosetta Stone. Enjoy.

Thanks for the comments Darren! The "burning" was done with a standard (ie- "cheap") woodburning tool with a rounded tip. Never know what I'm gonna do on the burning until I start. This one has a sort of "briar patch" look that was a pleasant "accident"
