- Hey Angela. Check out this build by rodney fruits. This is the lowecone we are looking at. You can see we need room for the sound holes. This build also has an electomagnetic pickup (between the sound holes) we talked about, which takes up more room on the front (soundboard). A piezo transducer (alone or with the EM pickup) wouldn't take up more room on the soundboard. For a piezo, its best to also include a pre-amp. I've been using the EQ-7545R. Of course that takes up space, but not on the soundboard.
