What is your favorite box to use?

I love how Arturo Fuente boxes sound. They produce good tone and nice volume. What box gives you the best sound, and why do you favor the sound you get from the box?

piezo placement

Im asking this question here because this section seems to be alot more active that the cbg electronics section and I figure I would get just as good an answer from you guys. I want to experiment a little with piezo placement. I usually glue my piezos in near the bridge. How would the back of the cbg sound, or even the center of the soundboard. What different locations have you tried and how did it sound? -AlexSee More

Hi Alex,

There are a whole bunch of magnet makers and resellers available for you in the states.

AZ Industries or Magnetichold will both do smallish custom orders in humbucker mags and rods, in a range of alloys.

If you're just looking for a few magnets to try out ideas with, don't forget stewmac, guitar jones, allparts etc.

cheers

Welcome aboard, Alex! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).

Up in the Free Resources menu at the top, you will see a number of plans for building and playing cigar box guitars/ukuleles/banjos/dulcimers/violins. I encourage you to download any of the plans, take a look at them, and ask questions from there. Also our site is VERY searchable. I bet you your questions have already been asked, so take a few moments and look around.

Join our Chat sometime (see the bar at the bottom of your browser page). Keep in mind that tho the chat window says there are X number of people online, not all may have the chat window up.

Most of all, have fun!

-Wes
