is it possible you "bridged" the volume pot on its case?

Hey guys, Help! This didn't work right. It sounds great, but the volume pot (right) doesn't do anything but full volume. The tone pot works which is a first for me. My other 3 attempts failed to change the tone on previous builds. This time i used a good cap.. It looks like the jack socket touches the tone pot, but it doesn't. I didn't tape wrap my joins this time as they are all clear of each other.
