Comment by Gitarmoro on April 22, 2011 at 4:28pm I just made one. Lots of fun - I slide like hell on my CGB, an it sounds justabout 90% garbage! So I'm workin' on the last 10%, haha! No, seriously, I made one 2nite: I'm really happy with it. The ergonimics are ok, thand ae materialse work well and everythin, but the sound is more in the direction of a snare drum/rim shot. I love it, its very responsive and all...... but it's definatly not a bass drum copy...... Is it the coice of pieco or is it the placement? What wuuld You guess??
Hi,
the Stomp boxes sound better with a piece of carpet underneath, if out side it helps to keep them even. I cut the carpets just big enough to stand on, that way you keep it in place with your other foot, while Stomping ! For anti-slip, I cut a piece of rubber car mat, to size and screwed it in place on the base. I then put 5 screws through the base, the points stick out of the bottom by 2-3mm, they stop the Stomp Boxes from walking away from you.
Are you thinking of making one ?
Have fun with it !

Comment by Gitarmoro on April 21, 2011 at 5:07pm Thanks for sharing! Your soundfiles are really awesome: Original, and soundwise just up the same road of what I'm hoping to achieve myself one day :)
While we're at it: What do You use for anti-slip? Is that a mouse-mat or something that cmae out of eBay? :)
Hi,
glad you like my Stomp Boxes, I make them out of Marine Ply, very strong, you can really stamp hard on them. They are designed for Stomping standing up, they can really take it! I glued 2 x 1/2K Piezo Pickups to the base, under the ball of the foot and a jack output. I used my own boot, to get the size and feel right, it then seemed right to put the Boot Print on the lid. This Boot Print is now one of our Logos. I did one more thing to them, I added 2 raised corner at the front, like a toe guide, these you can feel with your foot, as, if holding a guitar or something, it is hard to see your foot or the Stomp Box. I built 2 of them, 1 for me and 1 for Tom, we have used them for every Gig ever since!!
Please list to some of our tracks, we used them to record with.
Many Thanks,
Col
