Beautiful. I really like the log hoop idea. Don't think I ever heard of that. Using a Grain measure was very popular back in the day:

i agree leave the bark on absolute great looking banjo.  i want to try to make one i got the hyde (goat) just havent done it yet, but this might move me to it lol.  excellent looking

Yeah! Leave the bark on. Don't know if you're related to Jason Romero - he makes high end banjos that sound fantastic but I'd sooner play one made out of a log and had real personality!
