The inside of the box is framed with thin wood to eliminate that vibration you are talking about. Yes, it is acoustic and i put some strings on it yesterday and i'm excited how nice and bright the sound is!

That looks fantastic! I'm thinking the reso would eliminate the funky vibrations I associate with metal boxes. Does it? Is it acoustic? How's it sound? Anyway, it's a thing of beauty.
