Thanks, John! It's currently hanging on the wall at Regency Cigar in Rhode Island. Gotta get my so-called studio up now that I'm on the east coast...been working and busy since I got here so haven't had the head space for any side projects yet...I hope all is well with y ou.   ET

How did I miss this. It is fabulous. So striking and lots of nice detail revealed in the other pictures too.

Hey  Cameron, the box was SO specific with all opaque solid color paint, I felt a painted neck would be more in tune than a stained/wood one ---  Poplar neck...just sealed it and sprayed it red -- then light sanding after the white headstock mask and spray -- and solvent-based urethane clear coat over the whole neck. The semi-gloss clear matched the gloss of the box so it looks all of a piece.

And Michael & Professor,  I too believe CBGs are for playing...and you're talking to an abstract/expressionist painter and commercial grunge artist...yes the 'used and abused' vibe is giver of mojo -- rust and scrapes and gouges are my primary sensibility --  but I'm also an art director so you serve the piece --  this one is a clean build commissioned from the start as a wall art piece by a cigar collector non-player who specifically didn't want the box f'd up...F holes on the side would be f'ing the box up (and pointless, besides the top is softish masonite and not my idea of a players rig anyway) --- this'll  only get pulled from the wall twice a year when someone asks about it, strummed once and hung back in place...

You'll see some grunge boxes from me in the future....

Very nice and use it how you will but my view is playing it is the way forward. F holes and marks will help

Neat box and guitar, no need to wreck the art with holes on the face, you can put a few holes in the sides and it will allow the lid to move and sound good. Paintings are for hanging on walls, CBG's are for making music.
