The brass disc is probably too thick for really good sound. The brass is supported just at the front and back edge. There's a piezo under the bridge and it sounds very sweet amplified but is muted acoustically. It doesn't have the tinny, metallic sound of the other few resonators I've tried (paint can lid, a small cooking dish and a tin can). The brass had a nice nice bell-like ding sound when I tapped it that made me think it was worth a try.
