Comment by James Foster on July 9, 2012 at 7:49am Thanks Bluesheart! It is called a 2-in Aluminum Phillips Binding Post Screw. I honestly have no idea what it is used for, but it may very well be something like a photo album post. I found it at Lowes for $1.04. One end screws out (internally threaded). It works great! I just set it into the oak a bit and the tension form the strings holds it perfectly. I also used the same piece only 1 inch on the head as a string tree since my strings needed to be lowered a bit on the head. Something I will correct on my next build :o)
