The Radione is very cool looking. Transistors or tubes?

thanks for your comment, John. What a great input you gave with those radios conversions! This is another one I just ordered, a Radione

elmar..look on the back...if it has  a phono pulg in you dont have to do anything but plug your guitar into it!...some of them where made to have record players hooked up to them!...YOU PLUG RIGHT IN THERE no hack needed!

I saw this just sell on ebay for 30 bucks, the seller even made a video....I can hear the killer tone just waiting for a conversion....imagine the poss-obilites....just like Mami's kitchen!

this would make an awesome amp!

Here is something i am working on. Its an old Arvin tube radio. Turning it into a cbg tube amp will be a little tricky. All tubes, no transformers in these old things.

Had some spare time today and I hack into my Sony Sports boom box. Here are a few pictures.

What your looking at is the cassette motor. I unclipped the harness and set it out of the way.

I clipped the wires off the stereo tape head. There is a red, black, yellow, white and bare ground wire. I soldered the bare ground wire to the negative ground post of the jack. I hooked my 2 stringer  to the jack and tested the wires on the positive post. I found the red and white wires were the left and right channels. So the black and yellow were negative and I soldered them to the ground post of the jack. Made the hole for the jack on the left side and put it all back together.

This one is a loud amp and was well worth the hack. AM-FM radio works well. I found that the tone on the bass setting and the Mega Bass switched on worked the best along with playing with the volumes. This runs off a wall adapter or 6 C batteries.

Hope this help make clear how to do this amp hack, it's easy, cheap, and anyone can do it.
