The Matador badge

So strange. At least I have a better idea of what it actually is other than the Matador. I looked all over the net and only saw one or two acoustics and some other off brand electric badged as a matador.

The bridge actually works just fine. No problem with intonation really. Except it is kind of a flat bridge instead of having a radius with the fret board. But it has nice low action and plays just fine. I can't say for certain if its an original bridge or not.

Not Frisco teisco.

Wierd. I don't think this has anything to do with Kingston does it? I have another Kingston guitar that's like a Frisco that I've been working on and fixing. But all I really knew about this one is that it was a '65 Japanese teisco made guitar imported through st.louis or something like that. Until I saw your pic. It was probably made by the same people badged under another name for some company. The plate on the back is blank actually. No other info.

Wierd I think yours is really a Tiesco Del Ray, as far as I can remember the Kingston Matador in 65' has a meat cleaver shaped headstock & the body was obnoxiously wide for dat year? does yours have a plate on the back with the model number? looks like an ET-310 to me?

Original Bridge?  yours has been modified, the original Bridge is a bit of a pain.

so, I can see why it's been changed. I had another one jus like yours & it had the same style bridge, it's one they used on quite a bit of the 200 & 300 series guitars in the mid to later 60's.

Wow Brian - check it out!  This is my 1965 Teisco Badged as a "MATADOR" guitar.  Looks just like yours - except color obviously but  notice on mine the bridge is made of wood!!!?!? no way to intonate.  Where dya git that purdy little bridge?
