Is this a Del Ray Tulip then or just considered a Tulip, then? Not sure if either Del Ray or Tulip was a line or just a body style within the line.

I finally had a real weekend off and a chance to noodle around with this thing. Really interesting tone and I like it a lot. These sure are cool for just being a dime store guitar more or less. Ya gotta love that cheezy pick guard! Lots of fun on the cheap and it's already somewhat reliced ;)

Comment by Dave Lynas on June 23, 2013 at 11:27pm: Ron, i've got a Checkmate Tulip with two pickups that i rebuilt. I made a new control plate for mine. I think Teiscos and Checkmates are made in the same factory, but sent to different retailers. The badges look the same as if they came from the same company. I've not seen a Checkmate decal though. All three of my Tulips have a zero fret. I love that as you get a low action and a chance at good intonation.

Maybe I'll pickup one of those AllParts bridges at some point.
