I like ebay. I've done very many sales on ebay and many more purchases. I've not been stiffed yet. Some oversell with glorious verbage, but they've made right by there puff. Anyone tried Chicago Music Exchange? I've been buying a few things from them. Like it so far...

I'm on Etsy for 6 mo sold 1

I tried Etsy a few years ago. Only reply received was a fellow wanting to trade in exchange for him building me a website. I can do that on my own.

I prefer Ebay, simply because I believe more people look at that site for guitars than Etsy. Also, I have had great results...have sold nearly every instrument I have ever listed.

I see some guys use ebay... anybody try etsy.com?

Nice input Wayne. I've sold to Australia also. France and Australia and Canada all worked smooth. I like the tracking on USA ships. Canada is ok but expensive to ship. Just got to keep trying.

I ship a lot of guitars overseas and its a real crap shoot every time.  Additional insurance is rarely an option and about the only tracking number you can get is the Customs Form and if they don't scan it at the other end, its rather useless.  I shipped a guitar to Russia and within a week the guy had it.  The ones I ship to Australia generally take about a month.  Delivery times and customs clearance are all over the board.

As far as the in-house classifieds - Well, its like selling ice cubes to Eskimos.

I like ebay. I've sold many ukuleles on ebay without a problem yet. Only trouble is shipping overseas. I've had one take two months to reach England. Now i just do shipping in USA. Too bad though as i had many customers overseas. It's the tracking that is too expensive overseas. Or not available at all. I buy on ebay all the time and like it very much. I don't sell a lot locally, but it's working better as time passes. I have a large inventory now and need to sell, so this is the forum for me. Thanks for the advise. Our CBG in house classified department is seldom used. What's with that?....

I am strongly thinking about takeing your advice on that Even though when one turns out a nice well built product there will likely come a time when some one buys a CBG of yours on ebay that has it in there head that they are geting a factory finish  guitar that   tunes and plays it,s self, then you get a negitive fedback by no folt on your part. I have seen this happen to others.

Displaying them where they give lessons souns like a good idea.Any where people can see them. Geting back to ebay, I have sold 4 strings, 3 strings and a 6 string but no luck at all selling a 2 string. Any one else seeing this?

I'm going to try something interesting these next two months in moving some gitts. My cousin teaches guitar lessons at a shop he rents and I'm thinking of displaying a couple there for sale as well as with "raffling one off" at $2 per ticket. He has 60 some students.
