I don't know whether anybody is finding it a pain to get piezo's but I have been struggling to find smaller one (less than 20mm diameter). Finally found a UK supplier who has shit loads of different sizes and freq responses so you can pick something that is more suited than just using Maplins stock. URL is:

Things have changed now on the value of RHD in the states. On my last contract out there my company would have paid for me to ship a vehicle back so I looked into a postal RHD. The contract had been with Subaru (Legacy) and then with Jeep (Wrangler) and those vehicles were fetching more in the USA than I would have paid in UK the for the same model ? Funny how things change.

just before the days of small suzuki jeeps I was offerd ex us mail jeeps from a mate in chicago for $300 dollars a pop right hand drive so low value in the us
import duty would have been up to 40% of uk decided value regardless of what I paid could have brought them in via Antwerp but gave up couldnt be arsed it all got very complicated if I get anything from over the pond in future im going to get a mate in the us to middle and send on as a gift

I knew a man in manchester who shiped in Harleys from the states as spares this involved taking off easily removed bits, wheels handle bars . that sort of thing. Then sending them over in two different shipments. My Man in Manchester would then marry the two bits together again thus beating import duty. Bet you couldn't do it now

BIgbog - I believe the actual rules are that customs can sting you for what THEY believe the value is. I was caught by this a few years ago. I was in the RN and organising the ships raffle. Bought a shitload of electronics goods from a shop in Dubai. When I purchased my video camera they gave me a very hefty discount. Kept the receipt and and the customs mans reaction was "I don't care what the receipt says - I reckon this would cost about £300 in Dubai and that is what the duty is being charged on !" - Bastard

Just a note about shipping etc, I use to ship racecars in from the states and got stung only once big time as I'm sure you can emagine when we are talking thousands for a racecar. I was told by someone that the only way around this was to have the shipping paperwork read a lower price hence the duty and vat is calculated on a leser amount, Apparently ?
