@ YB again - cool - so my hardwoods should do the job - I have a piece of maple that is too long to waste on one guitar and too short to make two - sounds like that could be my next project (after the 5 diddley bo's and 2 guitars I have on the go at the moment LOL! - sheesh this is addictive innit!)

The neck and body of the bass was made from used bad laths. They are cheap pine and were 1 3/4" x 1" No finger board was used and the neck was radiused. The neck is just strong enough. Body to neck was glued and screwed. I didn't angle the neck as this was a purely experimental build. Should I progress the idea the neck will be angled like a 'proper' stand up bass. It might also allow bowing the instrument.

I usually use a thru neck and just drill a hole through the end of the dowel for the string, so you dont have to dismantle the thing just to change the string!

Any know how you fix the string inside a tin on a one string diddley bow? Like the look of roostermans one in his vid... Also seem to have developed a faster style of driving since I have had Hollowbellies PNB album in the car cd player. And points don't always mean prizes.lol
