Hi there, I bought a set of 5 good quality tuning pegs at my local music store - he had to use one to fix a guitar for a customer and, realizing he only had 5 left and only one customer likely to have a use for an incomplete set, he pounced on me as I walked past the shop! Got them for a very good price as a result. Question is: I can make one 3 stringer and 2 diddleys or one 3 and a 2 stringer which I have been contemplating (yes I know there other permutations like a 4 and a 1 LOL) but what tunings do people use on a 2? Something like E-e or E-B maybe? Any ideas welcome. Cheers

Hi All! My first post and today I started building my 1st cbg. Got an old box from good old ebay! Dont think it was a cigar box, but a real nice looking solid box with great relief carvings on the front.Got some nice looking wood from local wood store for the neck and some tuners and single coil pick up from internet. Started today to route the neck to a more comfortable size than just a plank!!! So far so good, Will post pics when finshed. Love the music and sounds seen on all the online vids etc. Been playing around with a "Seasick Steve" stlyeee 3 string electric for a while and love the sounds and fun to be had!!! Good luck people and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my 3 string CBG is now a 1 string diddly bow tuned to low E.
Sounds so much better like that and easily holds the tuning on one string.

I shall be starting my next project, the mystery box, soon, learning from the mistakes I made here.

for piezos I use this guy on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120570049913 and for jacks http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2505729251... he does a reduced postage for multiple purchases - I buy 6 at a time for £7.43. As to sound holes I buy grommets for £1 a bag at the market - sink strainers are cool too. Otherwise I burn them with a grinder and leave it with a burnt edged hole
