After the success of the stage that I set up and ran at Mill Rd Winter Fair, I have gotten together with a small group of people and we have decided to use the same setup to host "The First Cambridge Cigar Box Festival" on 11th August 2012 in Cambridge, UK

Brickdust says, "no one is above anyone else, we are all the same, we are all equal", this is our Moto and the Ethos of the whole thing.

If anyone would like to come and play a set on a Home Made Instrument, please get in touch, there will be Open Mic spots to start the day off at 2pm and Floor Spots/ Jam for the last hour at the end.

If any of the builders want to come and set up a stall, they would be very welcome. There is a large area outback,  where we can set up stalls, but it is open to the elements, so you will need to bring a Gazebo or something or run the risk of the weather!

It would be good to get some idea of numbers, so if you do want a Floor Spot or want to display your Instruments "For Sale", please try and let me know.

What ever you do, make sure that you bring a Cigar Box Guitar for the Jam at the end!

This will be a one-day event, starting at 2pm with an Open Mic and finishing with a Jam/Floor Spots the curfew will be 11pm, entry is FREE, all it will cost you is travel and food.

Really looking forward to this one and seeing the players live. Any chance you could publish the full address and start times etc. My satnav is not so good on postcodes.

Prof.

Hi Prof,

sorry no reply until now, we have not made a final decision on the location yet, if we hold it outside, where we had the Winter Fair Stage it will mean putting up and taking down a stage, and power, and so on, and so on!

Also although it is a private Car Park, I am not sure, if we would need a Public Entertainment Licence!

There is a venue pub right next to it in Mill Rd, so we are looking at  that, just not sure that it is big enough?

I will keep you informed,

Cheers,

Col

Great, Venue now published looking forward to seeing you there.

At the risk of leaving myself wide open from the people over the border (Dosen't anything ever happen in South Wales or even close to the border) CBG wise that is.

I will be there and and in the meantime looking forward to meeting some other like minded souls.

Hi all, you've posted that the venue for the event has been published .

Is it at Mill Road? Is it somewhere else? Have I missed something? Has the dementia finally settled in? Am I getting too old?

Hi ,do you need to know who will be coming to sell there instrument they have made Mal (Hull)

I am organising The First Cambridge Cigar Box Guitar Festival for 11th August, I still need to sort one thing, before I can announce the venue. We will kick off at 3pm with an Open Mic until 5pm and then 30 min spots until 11pm, if anyone would like to play a spot, I have one or two left, please let me know ASAP. If you want to do a bit for the Open Mic, it would be good to get an idea of numbers, so please let me know!

If you have spoken to me already, you do not need to do so again, your name is on the list!

If you have asked me about a stall, I will be in touch, when I am able to announce the Venue.

Many Thanks,

Col
