If anyone else is interested, let me know.  It'd be a great way to enjoy the festival and maybe sell a few instruments, pass out business cards, etc...  This is a rots music festival and a perfect fit for CBGs.

In fact, if anyone is interested in doing this for any festival, let me know.  We could have a "Tarheel CBG" guild booth that displays/sells wares from several different builders.

Madurobob - just tried to send a PM but we gotta be friends first :)  I'm totally down for sharing a booth at Shakori if you have some room. I'll likely have a few instruments, but home-screened tshirts are 95% of my business now. All NC-themes that I make in my very own kitchen. Check em out at http://www.etsy.com/shop/JohnnySwankMusic?ref=seller_info and see if that sort of thing jives with what you have. I'm in Raleigh FWIW.

Two things:

1. Welcome George!

2. I will have a booth at Shakori Hills in mid-april (http://shakorihillsgrassroots.org/).  Its a pretty big 4-day festival.  I'm likely to have some free space, depending on how quickly I can build up inventory.  Anyone want to join with me and bring some instruments to sell?  I'm planning on quite a few 3 and 4 string guitars and dulcimers, several kalimbas, some bottleneck slides, etc...  No cost to you if you want to join in - I've got that part covered.  Send me a PM if you're interested and we can work out the details.

Hi All,

Been in the Nation for awhile now and just got around to checking out the various groups and VIOLA! (yes I know that's not how it''s spelled!), we have a tarheel group.

Just cruising the comments, it looks like most everyone is on the other side of the state - I'm in the mountains, near Cherokee.

Can't play the CB guitar (my fingers don't want to cooperate in that chording thing, not to mention that I really have any rhythm) but I can sorta hold my own with the CB dulcimer.  I don't mind just working on the one (double) string (:>

So far I've managed to complete 7 guitars, 7 dulcimers, 44 kalimbas, 9 amps and 1 door harp.  I keep this up and I may discover I know what I'm doing!

Hope springs eternal!!!

What, there's a NC group?  And I thought I was all alone down here...

Hi y'all!

Nah, I work in the film/TV biz - just picked up the CBG bug - gives me something to fiddle with between gigs!

Yep, up near the @#$%-%$#@-ing greedy POS's at the Coastal Center & and Empty Arms Hotel. ( I really hope that's not where you were working!)

Had a good festival ... I plan on doing the Azealea and the Riverfest again .... plus That area ( Willywood -lol - to Kure) is one of my favorite places.

matt - didn't get to Riverfest this year - had to work all weekend.  Did you have a booth downtown?
