Hi Folks: Thought I'd do a few solid bodies this summer in addition to everything else I'm behind on. Got 2 nice pine Tele bodies & one Esquire. Got what could only be an old Vox Phantom (pine) with Tele hardware and what looks like a cross between a Firebird & Jaguar (alder) with Tele & Strat hardware. I'm making a bass out of it using 2 Hofner Beatle bass pickups & a single coil where the Strat bridge would be & a high mass bridge father down the body so I can use a 34" scale neck. Stained it to look like a neck through body (darker center with light wings) Ready to start mounting hardware on this one. Will post pics soon.

bolt in mate.  youve kind of done it completely backwards from how i normally do it, but it'll work.  hopefully you havent fitted that bridge yet.  I usually rout my neck slot before i even cut the body out, it is where i get my centre line from

Hi jabes. We can help. For a single switch on that pup I would use a dpdt toggle to flip the two coils in that rail pup between series and parallel. Two very useful sounds. As for your neck join well I can help with that too but first you need a neck so you know how big a hole to cut

hi, i just joined the group. i've had he bits for a solid a while now but been building other stuff. i mean to cut down the bridge to a 3 or 4 string but no idea how to fit the neck - straight through or like on yer tele etc .. here's a mockup -no neck yet.

need a switch for the pup as well . anyway any suggestions . body modeled on a stratotone H44.

Hey Troy, you're an Aussie are you not? All that timber you see is recycled, and a lot of it native.
