I`ve been making darren rod piezo bridges for the past few months, they have a better sound then the piezo disc`s with no feedback and no unwanted sounds from touching the box. Just the sound from the strings pushing down on the bone saddle atop the rod.

I make all mine with 2 piezo discs in the bridge. I think they sound better and have much less 'noise' from the neck etc. Feedback is gone also. Try it, it works.

pure string sound?  no such thing when the strings are attached to something...

 

piezos never ever sound just like the acoustic sound of an unamplified Git. , but we are so used to "acoustic/electric" sound of piezo equipped guitars that we accept it as "acoustic"....

 

It is possible to build bridge pickups that have no feedback and little "noise"....

I'm glad I found this. I was just asking about this sort of thing in another group. Your designs are different than the one I was asking about, but the same principle.

I have been thinking of making something along these lines based on the design I saw. Since it will only be my second guitar, and first "electric" build, I want to make sure I'm understanding right that the piezos inside these bridges do not touch the body of the guitar at all?
