hello my name is Jason and i'm a stringed instrument addict. I never met a guitar i didnt like. If you put strings on a 2 by 4 it would be the coolest 2 by 4 ever. i have 2. I think this site is great i didn't know so many other people love making this stuff . I look forward to seeing more great pics of cbg,s .

Hi Guys

Just picked up an ancient radio from the charity shop (the shape of a CBG AMP) it looks like its ready to be transformed into a dirty CBG amp.

It has all the original electrics -

Has anyone ever done this and if so - any tips or suggestions

Thanks

CL

Hey Yall, My name is Jesse, Im from Kamloops British Columbia. I guess i'll start off by introducing myself. I am 16 years old, and I absaloutley love the blues, espically the delta blues. Some say im an old soul trapped in a young mans body, anyways I recently build my first CBG, and love it. Now this is not my first guitar, I also have 17 more electrics, and acoustics, but i thought it was High time to build something on my own. Id just like to thank Shane for the great site, and all the great people that come along with it. Thanks again.

- Sincerely: Jesse DeFehr

Hey Deron -- Honestly you could make a semi usable instrument with NO baox...just a stick with strings and a piezo stuck to the board...so it's really a matter of visual ratio --- a little box can make a cool CBG --- just will have it's own look. My first box was a store bought basswood box kindof SQUAREish --- looks like a LUTE or something Asian (take a glance at my photos of the build)...but it came out cool and sounds amazing...so yours should be fine and funky...as long as the neck can be mounted I'd say go for it...

hey there was wandering if a cigar box measuring 5x10x2in would be big enough to build a guitar. this will be my first attempt and the box was a gift so i want to be sure before i dive in. many thanks for any input.

Tim Fleisher and JImmie Bracher....thanks for the welcome....I uploaded a picture under my page illustrating my cb conundrum....watcha guys think? I was thinking about cutting in to the top level of the taper so it sits flush.

Welcome Jose. Jump onto the Ohio CBG group also. I think I have one of those boxes too. But mine's a little damaged. I thought about making the neck come out of the latch side or hinge side instead of the traditional side of the box.

TO JOSE FROM CINCINNATI: hey man, upload a picture of the box...i can't quite picture the taper and what the gap issue might be...I'm working on a project with a VERY weird box shape myself...---

Sorry to y'all I thought I was posting something but sent a message instead.

Just got my first guitar Rat Daddy built it for me, thanks Rat Daddy. First one I saw Microwave Dave was playing. Planning on playing it at my next gig 11/11 at Knuckleheads Saloon in KC.

I'm a blues playing preacher, live in KC my web site is www.bluesrev.com

Looking forward to learning a lot about the instrument from y'all...

Peace,
jimmie
